Midday Meal Labour Association workers stage protest

Workers working under the banner of the District Midday Meal Agencies Labour Association staged a protest before the office of the District Educational Officer, here on Monday, demanding immediate release of pending bills for March and April. Speaking on the occasion, D. Bharathi, association president, appealed to the government to fix the slab rate for each student at Rs.10 and supply eggs directly to the agencies. She said there were no utensils and proper infrastructure for cooking and dining at schools and they should be provided immediately for smooth implementation of the programme.
