Mason ‘acting as Naxal courier’ held

The Manuguru police on Friday arrested a mason on the charge of acting as a courier for Maoists.

Police identified the arrested as B Suresh alias Rakesh, of Edulla Bayyaram. He is presently working as a mason in Dummugudem mandal bordering Chhattisgarh.

A police team apprehended Suresh during a vehicle check in Manuguru town while he was heading towards Dummugudem on a motorbike and seized ₹2.80 lakh as well as revolutionary literature from his possession, police said. Police said he was allegedly trying to procure medicines and groceries for the ultras with the cash given to him by the latter recently, when he was nabbed.
