Maoists torch six vehicles in Telangana

Maoists went on a rampage setting ablaze six vehicles at Tekulagudem in Wajedu mandal near the Telangana-Chhattisgarh border on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday.

Around 30 Maoists allegedly set vehicles on fire engaged in road construction work at Tekulagudem village shortly after midnight.

In a related development, a gunbattle reportedly broke out between the police and the ultras in the forest area between Annaram of Wajedu mandal and Marimalla of the strife-torn Bijapur district in Chhattisgarh on Tuesday morning.

There were no immediate reports of casualties.
