The MPC and BiPC students students of private junior colleges in the district feel cheated as most of the colleges do not have science labs to do experiments for their practicals.
There are 166 colleges in the district and majority of them lack well equipped labs.
The managements however collect Rs. 1,500 to Rs. 2,500 from each student to bribe the examiners to get them passed in the examination without performing the practicals.
Since the MPC and BiPC students have 60 and 120 marks respectively for practicals in second year, the students pay the amount to managements because the Intermediate marks have 25 per cent weightage in Eamcet.
Money collected from studentsSpeaking to The Hindu , a second year BiPC student, said that the managements have collected Rs 2,500 and Rs 1,500 from MPC and BiPC students respectively for the purpose.
“We scored very good marks in 10th class and we are working very hard in studies but we are facing problems in doing practicals, as the college is not equipped properly with apparatus which is very essential for a laboratory, the student complained.
A faculty member teaching in another private college said that the managements never buy chemicals because they have to spend thousands on them.
The practicals are just one month away from today, but some colleges have never taken their students to labs.
The student organisations have complained at Regional Inspection Office of Intermediate Education office, but they have taken no action.
Earlier, the college managements had collected excess amount from students towards examination fee. While the actual examination fee was just Rs 290, they have collected from Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,500.
No action taken to dateExcept slapping notices on the management following a host of complaints, RIO, N.Prakashbabu has not taken action against the erring managements.
There are 166 private colleges in Nalgonda district in which about 24,000 students are studying BiPC and MPC.
The parents,and students have appealed to the State government to take serious action against the erring college managements in the district.
