Man jumps off bridge

One person sustained serious injuries after jumping off a fly-over in Suraypet in the early hours of Tuesday. The victim was identified as Dharawath Mohan (42), native of Nampally Thanda of Lingampet mandal in Nizambad district.

According to police, Mohan boarded a Bodhan-bound bus in Guntur on Monday night. When the bus reached the flyover constructed on NH-65, Mohan requested the driver to stop the vehicle to attend nature’s call, but he jumped off the bridge after getting down leaving the bus driver in a shock. Passengers and the driver rushed to the spot, only to find Mohan in a pool of blood. He was rushed to a hospital in Hyderabad. His condition was stated to be critical.
