CM to lay stone for collectorate, commissionarate building and medical college

Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao said that a grand welcome would await Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Wednesday when he comes here to lay foundation stonecollectorate, commissionarate building and medical college. He called upon people to participate in the programme in large number to express their gratitude towards the Chief Minister.

Mr. Harish Rao along with Government Advisor G. Vivek and Collector P. Venkatram Reddy visited Duddeda where foundation stone would be laid for Collectorate and Commissionarate.

At Ensanpally, the place for laying foundation stone for medical college, was also examined along with the meeting place for public meeting.

The officials were directed to fill the potholes on the road leading to the site of the medical college and the parking place for two-wheelers and four-wheelers.

Speaking to reporters, Mr. Harish Rao said that the medical college attached with 300- bed hospital will come up in the district headquarters at an estimated cost of ₹750 crore and already 100 doctors were appointed and the college was accorded semi-autonomous status.

“This will not only provide medical education but also will extend health services to people of the district and neighbouring districts as well,” he said adding that this facility will only be next to Gandhi, Osmani and MGM hospitals in extending service.

Explaining the success that was achieved in the past one year after formation of Siddipet district, the Minister said that the Collectorate is being constructed at an estimated cost of ₹51.21 crore, spread on 25 acres, and commissionarate at a cost of ₹10.17 crore, spread on another 25 acres. Another 10 acres each is being attached to these buildings so that accommodation for Collector, Joint Collector, DRO, Police Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner and other senior officials is provided. He said that the district stands first in many aspects and that irrigation projects are fast progressing.
