Make Harita Haram a movement: JC

Joint Collector P Venkataram Reddy called upon the officials to up Harita Haram as a movement and make it a grand success.

Presiding over a review meeting held at the Collectorate on Wednesday, Mr Venkataram Reddy said that officers were appointed at mandal level to look after four to five villages and they would be responsible for creating awareness among villagers.

3.52 lakh saplings

The Joint Collector said that 3.52 lakh saplings would be distributed as part of the programme and each village would be given 40,000 saplings and all public representatives from village and mandal level should involve themselves in the programme.

District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) project director Ch. Satyanarayana Reddy said that about five lakh members of self-help groups (SHGs) would participate in the programme.

District Forest Officer Sudhakar Reddy, District Education Officer A Rajeswara Rao and others participated in the programme.
