Bouyed by the winning of four Lok Sabha seats in Telangana the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is in going about the task of building the party in the State in an aggressive mode.

According to sources, at least two former MLAs — M. Vijayapal Reddy from Narayankhed and T. Nandeeswar Goud from Patancheru — are in the queue to join the party. Former ZPTC member G. Srikanth Goud and a Telugu Desam Party leader are reported to be showing interest in joining the party. They are expected to join the BJP on Sunday in the presence of party working president J. P. Nadda at Hyderabad.

T. Ashish Goud, son of Nandeeswar Goud, joined the BJP and has become active in the youth wing. Mr. Nandeeswar, once a Congress MLA, quit it and tried in vain to join the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) in the past. Then he joined the BJP quit it and contested last Assembly elections on Telugu Desam ticket. Now he is all set to join the BJP. Mr. Vijayapal Reddy was TDP MLA from Narayanakhed and remained in the party during the difficult times. Though TRS has reportedly tried to rope him into the party, he had not budge. Now with the future of TDP appearing hopeless, he reportedly choose to join BJP. The cadre is still intact with him.

It is reported that the BJP is also holding discussions with some ruling party leaders at Bollaram and Tellapur. “With increased confidence levels in the party and recent Act of abrogation of Article 370 has got the BJP a positive image among the people. We are hopeful that we can show impressive results in municipal elections,” said a BJP leader.
