KCR wants local bodies to be strengthened

Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Tuesday said that there was urgent need to strengthen the local bodies at the grassroots level for effective implementation of the government programmes.

Mr. Rao, who was on a maiden visit to AMR-APARD campus at Rajendranagar here, held a review meeting with Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma, Principal Secretarty to CM S.Narsing Rao, special chief secretary Raymond Peter, GHMC commissioner Somesh Kumar and his advisors – K. V. Ramanchary, A. K. Goel and Ramlaxman.

The Chief Minister discussed the plans from village to the state level for all round development of the new State. He wanted all the employees working in the village level to be brought under the purview of gram panchayats. He spoke about imparting training to the newly elected ZP and Mandal parishad representatives and others. He said there was need to create awareness among the public representatives to curb corruption.
