KCR offers to resign if charge proved

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao offered to resign from the post if Telangana Congress Committee president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy proved that the Pragati Bhavan complex where the former resided had more than 15 rooms.

Reacting to Mr. Reddy’s charge that Pragati Bhavan had 150 rooms, Mr. Rao challenged the Congress leader to turn up at the campus by 7.30 p.m. when they could both inspect the rooms and arrive at a conclusion.

Mr. Rao said this was not the first time Mr. Reddy levelled baseless charges against him. On an earlier occasion also, Mr. Reddy made false allegations on agreements entered into by Telangana with Maharashtra. `“I offered to resign and waited for Mr. Reddy to prove the charge immediately after landing at the airport from Mumbai. But, Mr. Reddy did not turn up,” he said addressing the party plenary.

He criticised Congress and BJP leaders for speaking recklessly in view of elections next year.
