The 57th branch of Karimnagar District Cooperative Central Bank (DCCB) was inaugurated at Naka crossroads here on Friday by local MP B. Vinod Kumar.
Speaking on the occasion, the Telangana State Cooperative Apex Bank (TSCAB) chairman K Ravinder Rao, who is also the chief of Karimnagar DCCB, shared plans of opening five more branches to provide better services to customers. Stating that the DCCB had done a business of ₹2,350 crore during the last financial year, he said the bank had freshly added mobile banking facilities.
He also said they were planning to link all Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (PACS) with the DCCB after computerisation process is completed for farmers to take up banking from their village PACS by using micro-ATMs. He called upon the local residents to utilise bank services and avail themselves of various self-employment schemes.
Mr Vinod Kumar said the Karimnagar DCCB had emerged as role model for the country by earning profits and providing dividends at a time when other cooperative sectors were struggling for survival. Collector Sarfaraz Ahmad said the DCCB was providing services on par with commercial banks.
He also said the DCCB was at the forefront to support the government in launching various welfare schemes for the economic empowerment of all sections of society, including self-employment schemes and women SHGs.
DCCB CEO N. Satyanarayana Rao, NABARD DGM R. Ravi Babu, DCCB vice-chairman P. Mohan Reddy and IDC chairman Eda Shankar Reddy were present.
