Karimnagar Dairy turns role model for Telangana

KCR wants success story emulated by TSDDCF

Taking cue from the success of the Karimnagar Milk Producer Company, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has decided to implement the ‘success formula’ in the Vijaya Dairy of the TS State Dairy Development Cooperative Federation (TSDDCF) and launch a new milk revolution in the State.

Speaking after launching new products of Karimnagar Dairy - Jeera buttermilk and Spiced buttermilk and also one-kg curd packets in the town here on Sunday, Karimnagar MP B. Vinod Kumar said that the Chief Minister was concerned about the neighbouring states such as Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Gujarat etc. selling their dairy milk in Telangana.

The CM had asked Chief Advisor Rajiv Sharma to convene a meeting with the Karimnagar Dairy officials and TSDDCF officials to chalk out strategies to increase milk production in the State.

He said that the Karimnagar Dairy had emerged as role model in the milk production and also welfare schemes for the milk producing farmers.

He said that the State Government was also chalking out strategies for launching a milk revolution in the State by distributing milching animals to the farmers on a large-scale.

Karimnagar Dairy Chairman Ch. Rajeshwara Rao said that the dairy was topping in the milk sales in the State with 1.31 lakh litres per day. Besides, the dairy attained distinction in selling daily 80,000 packets of buttermilk.

Following the demand for the buttermilk, they had introduced Jeera buttermilk and Spiced buttermilk in glasses costing ₹ 10. Member of Legislative Council Naradasu Laxman Rao, MLA G. Kamalakar, Deputy Mayor G. Ramesh, Dairy MD P. Shankar Reddy, advisor V. Hanumantha Reddy, marketing manager Rajashekhar Reddy and others were also present.
