The district unit of Lok Satta Udyama Samstha has urged the State government to invoke PD Act against the suspended ASI B. Mohan Reddy, who is lodged in jail in a disproportionate assets case.

In a memorandum submitted to Principal Secretary (Home) and the DGP, Lok Satta office-bearers said that 11 criminal cases were registered by the ACB and another 60 by the CID against the tainted ASI, adding that he is “responsible for the suicide of two of his victims” who were unable to bear his harassment.

Stating that other victims of Reddy had already approached the police and urged them to invoke PD Act against him, they said a suspect sheet had been opened against the tainted ASI last August at Karimnagar One Town police station.

In the interest of his other victims, the government must invoke PD Act against Reddy, urged the office-bearers . They also pointed out that the ASI had converted the jail into his home in collusion with prison authorities and bribed cops to be able to meet his family members at a local hotel when he was brought here from Warangal jail to appear in court.
