Inter-state gang member nabbed

Property valued at ₹12.44 lakh recovered

Central Crime Station (CCS) police arrested one of a two-member inter-state gang of thieves and recovered property valued at ₹12.44 lakh from him.

Additional DCP (crimes) B. Ashok Kumar produced the arrested thief before mediapersons here on Thursday. The recovered property includes 218 grams of gold ornaments, three auto rickshaws and three motorcycles.

The accused was identified as Jannu Arjun alias Ajji of S.R. Nagar near Enumamula market and his accomplice called Baripatla Sai of Pochamma Maidan was absconding. A special police team was constituted to nab the other person who is at large.

Following a tip off, CCS inspector P. David Raju and Intezargunj police personnel conducted vehicle inspections at Kashibugga area and arrested Arjun while he was coming from Enumamula market to sell the stolen property on a stolen motor bike.

The Additional DCP said that the duo had committed 12 thefts under different police station limits in the city, in Jangaon and Warangal rural districts. Arjun used to work as daily wage labourer at Enumamula market and joined hands with his relative Sai to commit thefts to make easy money and live a lavish life.

Commissioner of Police G. Sudheer Babu appreciated Additional DCP Ashok Kumar, ACP B. Babu Rao, CCS Inspector David Raju, sub-inspector BVS Rao, ASI, Sanjeeva Reddy, head constable Srinivasa Raju, constables Shaik Mohammed Ali, Ravi Kumar and Jampaiah for nabbing the thief and recovering the property.
