“The State government has decided to open ICU (intensive care unit) centres at all the government district headquarters and area hospitals,”said Minister for Health C Laxma Reddy.
The Minister visited the government headquarters hospital here on Tuesday along with Government Chief Whip Koppula Eshwar, ZP chairperson Tula Uma, IDC Chairman E Shankar Reddy, Collector Sarfaraz Ahmed and others. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the government was committed to providing corporate-level treatment to the patients visiting government hospitals and accordingly it was decided to open 25 ICU centres in all the districts and 40 dialysis centres. The TSPSC has been asked to take up recruitment for 4,000 vacant posts in the all government hospitals very soon.
The Health Minister said repairs of all the hospitals including PHCs were taken up, equipping them with all the necessary furniture and medicines. Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s kit and ‘Ammavodi’ programme were yielding good results with increase in deliveries in the government hospitals. He also inspected the 150-bed women and child health centre coming up at a cost of ₹ 17 crore on the premises.
