Telangana Congress working president A. Revanth Reddy, who has now been declared as the party’s candidate from Malkajgiri constituency, said he cannot be silent about the ‘undemocratic’ rule of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and he was contesting in the elections to question it.
Mr. Reddy, who met the Medchal Congress district president, Kuna Srisailam Goud, at his residence on Saturday, later spoke to the media and said some of the Congress MLAs, who have crossed over to TRS now, had earlier requested him to contest the Parliament elections and had extended their whole-hearted support. “They have moved away from the party for reasons best known to them,” he said.
People should take the elections seriously and vote for a candidate who would raise the issues that concern them.
Mr. Reddy said the TRS could not make any difference with 15 MPs in the last Parliament and even now, they cannot do much. The national elections was between the BJP and Congress.
Stating that there was a need for a dynamic leader like Mr. Revanth in the present circumstances, Mr. Srisailam Goud said the Malkajgiri election campaign started with the meeting.
