Adilabad recorded a maximum temperature of 42.3 degree Celsius on Thursday making it the hottest day in the season so far. The maximum day temperature crossed the 40 degree Celsius mark on Tuesday and is steadily climbing.

Coming as they do after a spell of unseasonal rainfall in the first half of April, the hot days have become particularly unbearable. Not many seem to be preferring to stay outdoors during the afternoons these days.

The steady increase in maximum day temperatures could even lead to a heat wave, according to experience in the past years. Farmers however, have welcomed the hot days as it aids land preparation for kharif season which is round the corner.
