Member of Parliament Dharmapuri Arvind maintained that he derived more pleasure in ensuring treatment of children suffering from different ailments through his Dharmapuri Foundation than from being elected a public representative.

There could be no more pleasure than saving the children, he said at a gathering of some of the children who had undergone treatment for various ailments with financial assistance from the foundation here on Tuesday.

As there was no Ayushman Bharath, a flagship scheme of the Government of India, in Telangana he was rendering similar service through his foundation. He organised a get together of all the children who benefitted from his foundation following a suggestion of BJP national president Amit Shah to organise a get together of children who benefited under the Ayushman Bharath, the BJP Member of Parliament said.

Interacting with the children at the event organised at Baswa Gardens here, he said that in all 130 children had undergone treatment with the financial aid extended by his foundation till now. Of them, 22 children were from the district and all of them were hale and healthy. The children underwent surgeries for heart, lungs, brain tumors, cancers, liver and other serious ailments. “I feel it is an opportunity given to me by God to serve them,” he said.

The MP demanded the TRS government allow the Ayushman Bharath to be implemented in the State to ensure many more children get benefited. He dined with children and their families and gave away gifts to them. BJP leaders Palle Ganga Reddy and Baswa Laxminarsaiah were among those who participated.
