Heavy rush at Vemulawada

With the coming Maha Sivaratri festival round-the-corner on February 17, Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy Devasthanam in Vemulawada of Karimnagar district has been witnessing heavy pilgrims rush on the auspicious Monday.

People had formed serpentine queues to have darshan of presiding deities and participating in traditional offering of tying an ox (kode mokkku) at the temple.

The temple sources said that the devotees rush would be increasing on all the Mondays with the Maha Sivaratri festival in the next month.

Prominent among those who offered prayers at the temple on Monday, including Karimnagar legislator Gangula Kamalakar along with family members and Pinapaka legislator Payam Venkateshwarlu and his family members.

The temple authorities accorded traditional welcome to the legislators.
