HC penalises builder for violation

Justice P. Naveen Rao of Hyderabad High Court imposed a fine of ₹1 lakh on a builder who raised building in violation of sanctioned plan and misled the court.

The judge was dealing with a contempt case filed by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation. The court was informed that builder Syed Moinuddin Ali Khan made application to construct 1,152 square feet where as his completed structure spread over 15,171 square feet.

When action was initiated he approached the court obtained status quo orders and then completed the structure.

This builder had tried to cow down the GHMC officers by filing contempt cases. When the GHMC filed the present contempt case the court called for records and other reports on status of building.

The court concluded that he violated the orders of the court and declared him guilty of violating the orders of court.

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation is at liberty to remove the illegal portions of the structure. The fine amount shall be spent for greenery in that area.
