‘Green’ concerns play spoilsport!

Even as time and fund crunch are being cited as the reasons behind holding the Assembly session in Hyderabad, another theory is cropping up that the environmental clearance issues have made the government to change its mind. Apart from the location of capital drawing severe criticism from the environmentalists, the NGT has ordered a stay on any construction activity in Amaravati, till it gets environmental clearances. The NGT has even directed not to bulldoze agricultural fields or conduct any ground levelling works in Amaravati. The CRDA has filed an affidavit before NGT claiming that environment clearance has been accorded.
