GHMC not paying heed to dog menace

October 05, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:37 am IST

I am a resident of Brindavan Colony, Tolichowki. I have registered a complaint online in the grievance forum of the GHMC. My complaint was regarding the dog menace in my locality.

The number of street dogs has increased since the past few months, barking throughout the day, and defecating in front of houses. Passersby are facing problems and children are scared to step out of house for fear of the dog biting.

My complaint No. is 2015-09-W193779. Without attending to this complaint, it was closed as per the message received on my mobile. I have also received a phone call from the GHMC for a feedback of my complaint being solved. I informed them that the dogs are still roaming in the colony but till date no action has been taken.

Door-to-door survey is a waste

The GHMC had engaged in a door-to-door survey which was a wasteful exercise. In many areas they just handed over the forms and did not even collect the ones that were filled up detailing new voters or change of address. Now I believe the staff has blindly deleted the names of people not staying in the old address and did not bother to enter the new ones. The online system of the Election Commission is also pathetic, wherein the status shows it is under process for more than two months. It would be best to accept Aadhar cards along with old voter cards for those who have changed addresses and allow them to vote in their new constituency.

Need high-quality

zebra crossing

With the dismantling of Foot over Bridge (FoB) opposite Hyderabad Public School and construction of the Metro , hundreds of bus commuters, including a large number of students of Government Postgraduate College for Women, are finding it hard to cross the road.

The authorities concerned should provide high-quality zebra crossing connecting the HPS bus stop with Metro Pillar No. 25 at the earliest.
