Gajwel Assembly constituency in Medak district being represented by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao is set to witness a beehive of activity in the coming months with the former laying foundation stone for several development works on Saturday.
The Chief Minister appears to be working with a focus on developing his constituency so that his constituents repose faith in him in the years to come. By transforming the constituency into a model one, Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao is also planning to set an example to other legislators to pay back their constituencies with development.
He laid foundation stones for various development programmes taken up with an estimated cost of Rs. 98.72 core at Gajwel and Murkook village in Mulugu mandal on Saturday. Speaking to newspersons later, the Chief Minister said that Gajwel town would be one of the best destinations to live in the next two to three years.
The town would soon boast rythu bazaar, vegetable and meat markets for convenient lift. The three facilities would be established on the school premises, which would be shifted to proposed integrated complex later. It would also have a model residential colony with 1,500 one-plus-one houses to accommodate 3,000 families and the work on it would commence soon, the Chief Minister announced.
“It will be a greenhouse construction and one can find greenery everywhere with ultra-modern facilities. Gajwel town will be developed in such a way that everyone who visits it would wish to live there,” Mr. Rao said.
The Chief Minister was accompanied by Deputy Speaker M. Padma Devender Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister K. Srihari, Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao, MPs K. Prabhakar Reddy and B.B Patil among others.

Close shave for media personnelMedia personnel had a close shave on Saturday while covering the visit of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao to Gajwel Assembly constituency headquarters. A group of photographers and cameramen, who were travelling in an open top vehicle, came in contact with an overhead power line. To their luck, there was no power supply at that time. Some cameraman jumped out of the vehicle as the overhead power line touched them.
Taken into custodyThe police have taken five 2008 B.Ed. selected candidates into custody and later released them as they tried to meet Chief Minister. The police said that as they had no permission, they were taken into custody and later released.
