Special Branch Inspector K. Bhaskar sustained a bullet injury when a 9 mm pistol misfired in Nalgonda Police headquarters while a constable was cleaning it here on Friday morning.
He was shifted to Nalgonda government hospital. However, the doctors discharged him after providing first aid since it was a minor injury. Mr. Bhaskar told The Hindu that he was attending a meeting at the SP’s office. But he came out of the meeting hall to attend an important phone call.
Some police personnel were cleaning weapons nearby when one of the pistols was misfired. His condition is stated to be stable.
