Five people were killed in ghastly road accident near the IIT-H in Kandi mandal of Sangareddy district on Friday afternoon. Three of the victims died on the spot and two others succumbed to injuries later.
According to eye witnesses and police, a car coming from Rudraram lost control, jumped the divider and hit an RTC bus coming from Zaheerabad. The deceased were identified as Ketaki Dizital proprietor B. Mahesh (25), his friends and two workers – N. Nagaraju (20), B. Nagender (30), Y Venkateswara Reddy (28) and T Venkataram Reddy (22). They were returning from ‘Holi Pichikary party’ held at Rudraram and all of them belong to Sangareddy. The car was completely damaged.
According to DSP M. Srinivas, there were 28 passengers in the bus and the bus driver in his bid to control the bus drove it to the edge of the road and avoided a major disaster. Bus conductor Lingeswar who was injured in the accident said the bus driver Tukaram saved the day for many .
The bodies were shifted to government hospital for autopsy. The police have registered a case.
