The first double bedroom house was made ready at Erravalli, adopted by the Chief Minister, in Jagadevpur mandal of Medak district.

The house has been built on 560 square feet at a cost of Rs. 5.04 lakh. Works on building the house began in November last and it took more than 100 days to complete it as everything had to be started from scratch, including the establishment of cement brick manufacturing plant outside the village.

According to officials, flooring inside the house and other minor works would be completed in a day or two.

More than 800 labourers, including skilled persons, from Bihar, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh , Odisha, Ongloe in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have been roped in for achieving the target.

The district officials intend to complete the construction of 285 houses at Erravalli and 200 houses at Narsannapet before April 30 so that they can be handed over to beneficiaries.

To reach the target, they have to finish the construction of a house every third day.

“We are trying to reach the target without any deviation,” said Ramchandram, an Assistant Engineer involved in the project.
