Farmers’ issues to dominate TDP’s mini Mahanadu

May 18, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:55 am IST - ADILABAD:

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) will discuss issues related to the agrarian crisis and the failure of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government at the mini Mahanadu to be held in Adilabad on May 20.

The party will also chalk out a plan to pressurise the government to implement the promises it made during the elections.

Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, TDP west district unit president Lolam Shamsunder criticised the Congress for conducting the Kisan Sandesh Yatra of AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi. He questioned the party over its negligent attitude towards the farming sector. Mr. Shamsunder termed TRS as ‘anti-people’ and charged the party with failing to acknowledge the suicides of farmers. The TDP leader said about 3,000 workers were likely to attend the mini Mahanadu.
