‘Expedite work in compliance with quality norms’

Chief Minister’s Office Additional Secretary Smita Sabharwal has instructed officials to ensure that the bulk water supply to all the villages under Mission Bhagiratha programme was completed by this month-end.

She inspected the water treatment plant at LMD colony in Thimmapur mandal on Thursday. At a review meeting with the engineers and contractors, she informed the officials to take all measures to ensure the supply of protected drinking water to each and every household by providing tap connections by the Dasara and Diwali festivals. She also asked the officials to expedite the works at the earliest, in adherence with quality norms.

Instructing the officials to deploy more expert workers, she also directed them to deploy more labour by roping the NREGS labourers in consultation with the revenue officials. Ms. Sabharwal also instructed officials to take measures for repairs of all the Overhead Reservoirs (OHR) and paintings before the launch of drinking water supply scheme.

Engineer-in-chief Krupakar Reddy, CE Srinivas Rao, SE Ch Amarender, EE Chalmareddy, RDO Raja Goud and others were also present.
