Electric rickshaw to supply drinking water cans

October 20, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:48 am IST - SANGAREDDY:

In an effort to reduce the cost and make it environment-friendly, the Laxminagar Welfare Society has purchased an electric rickshaw to meet the requirement of the village.

This is the first electric vehicle, probably procured by a welfare association in the district for village requirements. Purchased at a cost of Rs. 1,05,000, the electric auto was proposed to be used for supply of drinking water cans to houses and watering plants initially.

It may be used for other purposes later. The vehicle is manufactured by Rocket Company. Once charged, the vehicle is expected to run for 50 km, enough to cover a village.
