‘Dynamo treated’ water promises bumper crop

What if a small mechanical intervention doubles production in your farm?

Mohd. Aziz, a farmer from this village in Patancheru mandal achieved this by cultivating ‘Aman Sona’ paddy variety in two acres with ‘dynamo treated’ water. He will be harvesting the crop in the next two to days and is expecting about 70 bags, each bag containing 75 kg paddy. “Earlier also I have cultivated the same variety of paddy but the yield was 30 bags only,” Mr. Aziz told The Hindu

Bharat Chheda, an innovator and proprietor Puro Products, has developed water treatment crop booster named SHAKTIMAN, dynamo based water conditioner which functions based on magneto-hydro dynamics.

This method supposedly reduces the effects of hard water by passing it through a magnetic field, as a non-chemical alternative to water softening. The product was tested on trail basis by Agri-Business Development Centre of the International Crops Research Institute for Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT).

Mr.Aziz stated that by using this system he was able increase the production and that could be witnessed in the growth of the saplings as well as output.

Surprisingly, there was no salinity in the water that is generally found in the fields. N.Rajesh, Research Scholar at ICRISAT and coordinator of the project, said that by pumping water through magnetic devices they were able to retain the slot contents in the water as it was before there by sending it to the roots of plants which is giving additional strength to the plants.

“I am ready to soften any hard water so that it could be used for cultivation of crops. The device fixed at the farm of Aziz cost about Rs. 40,000 and it will depend on the size of the pipe that pumps water. We have design magnets and other instruments based on that,” says Mr. Bharat.

Mr. Aziz said that he was ready to buy the equipment as it has resulted in good yield.
