Denied ticket, Madhira doctor quits TRS

The resignation of Dr Kota Rambabu, a Madhira-based doctor, from the TRS came as a setback to the TRS’s efforts to wrest the Madhira Assembly seat at the hustings. Upset over being denied the party ticket for the Madhira seat, Dr Rambabu quit the TRS two days ago.

He has been sulking over the allotment of the party ticket to Lingala Kamal Raju ever since the party high command released the first list of its candidates on Sept. 6. He had severed his ties with the party after holding extensive consultations with his supporters who reportedly insisted that he enter the poll fray.

The TRS district leadership has been making all-out efforts to emerge triumphant from the SC-reserved Madhira constituency, represented by the TPCC working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka in the dissolved State Assembly. The consistent efforts by the TRS district leaders to assuage Dr. Rambabu proved futile as he parted ways with the party on Saturday.
