Chief Secretary to the Government of Telangana Rajiv Sharma visited Mahabubnagar district on Sunday and held a meeting with officials at Jurala project on the Jurala-Pakala and Palamur lift irrigation schemes.
Mr. Sharma went around the Jurala project and spoke to the engineers on the prospects of the scheme proposed by the Chief Minister, K. Chandrasekhar Rao. At Pebbair, he discussed with the district officials about the Palamur lift irrigation scheme.
He said that the government was estimating that a revenue of Rs. 25,000 crore could be realised with the regularisation of government land encroachments and sale of government lands. The government was planning to construct integrated office complexes in the district so that all the district-level offices were located at one place. He assured that social security pensions would be given to all eligible persons under the Aasara scheme.
Later, the Chief Secretary visited Jogulamba and Balabrahmeshwara Swamy temples at Alampur along with his family members and offered prayers. Jogulamba temple executive officer Gururaja welcomed the Chief Secretary with ‘poorna kumbham’. He was also offered ‘sesha vastrams’ by the priests.
