CPI calls for fight against anti-labour policies

January 18, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 06:07 am IST - KHAMMAM:

Issues pertaining to Adivasis, farmers, agricultural labourers and other toiling masses prominently figured at the inaugural session of the two-day 20th district conference of the Communist Party of India which got underway in Bhadrachalam on Saturday.

Speakers at the opening session of the conference have underlined the urgent need for establishment of the long-awaited steel plant under the public sector at Bayyaram and sanction of pattas to Adivasis for “podu lands” being tilled by the latter for many years.

The Communist Party of India (CPI) leaders called for a sustained broad-based struggle involving all sections of society to fight against the alleged anti-labour and pro-corporate policies of the Central government.
