Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader M. Bhatti Vikramarka has expressed hope that people would ensure a big win for Congress candidate in the by-election to Huzurnagar Assembly constituency as a strong opposition is good for democracy.
In an informal chat with newspersons in the CLP office here on Saturday, he said the party would announce its candidate for Huzurnagar soon.
Stating that democracy was in danger in Telangana following the excesses of the ruling party, the Congress Legislature Party leader said every Congress worker would participate in electioneering in Huzurnagar for the success of the party candidate. Alleging that some officers were functioning with partisan attitude to help the ruling party, Mr. Vikramarka said they would complain the matter to the Election Commission.
He observed that there was an internal fight going on in the TRS between the ‘owners’ and ‘tenants’.
Meanwhile, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) official spokesperson Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy addressed a letter to AICC general secretary in-charge of party affairs in Telangana R.C. Khuntia and secretary Saleem Ahmed seeking an opportunity to contest the Huzurnagar by-election on behalf of the Congress.
