The Congress cadre who participated in the 15-km Rythu Barosa Yatra conducted by Rahul Gandhi in Adilabad district on Friday were elated following the success of their efforts.
A large number of party activists and leaders including former PCC president D. Srinivas, former Ministers Shabbir Ali and P. Sudarshan Reddy, former Assembly Speaker K.R. Suresh Reddy, ex-Government Whip E. Anil, Akula Lalitha, B. Mahesh Kumar Goud, Narala Ratnakar, DCC president Taher Bin Hamdan and former president Gadugu Gangadhar attended the yatra.
On Thursday evening they had given a ve grand reception to Mr Rahul Gandhi at Nanded airport and followed him in his motorcade to Nirmal. The leaders claimed that the padayatra was a great success and evoked overwhelming response. “We did not predict such a great response and it was attended by more cadre than what we expected,” claimed Mr. Taher Bin Hamdan.
It was said that from Balkonda constituency alone 10,000 party activists and people at large were mobilized for the programme.
