District Congress Committee (DCC) president V. Sunitha Lakshma Reddy, former Deputy Chief Minister C. Damodar Rajanarasimha and Zaheerabad legislator J. Geeta Reddy visited Chinna Ghanapur, Variguntam and Appajipally villages in Kulcharam mandal of Medak district on Monday. They interacted with the families of farmers who had committed suicide. They also visited the places for the proposed visit of All India Congress Committee (AICC) president Rahul Gandhi in the next week.

Speaking to reporters at Kulcharam mandal headquarters, the Congress leaders said that Rahul Gandhi had proposed the visit to extend moral support and confidence to farmers who were in debt traps. They also urged farmers not to commit suicides.

Stating that about three places had been shortlisted for Rahul Gandhi’s visit, including Medak and Adilabad districts, they said that the programme for his tour would be finalised shortly.
