Confusion is prevailing in the Choppadandi reserved Assembly segment with TRS former legislator Bodige Shoba, denied the party ticket in the first list announced by its president K. Chandrasekhar Rao, and TRS SC Cell state president and a ticket aspirant Sunke Ravishankar campaigning separately for the elections in the segment.

Bodige Shoba, who maintained a low profile for some time, has launched her campaign appealing to the party high command to allocate the party ticket to her, saying that she would definitely win the elections. She was also seen wailing with the women voters in the constituency over the denial of the party ticket.

The party high command had announced 12 seats out of the 13 assembly segments in the erstwhile Karimnagar district, she said and complained that she was set aside for being a Dalit woman.

She appealed to party president K. Chandrasekhar Rao and his son K. Taraka Rama Rao to allocate the party ticket to her and claimed she would romp home with majority.

Local candidate

On the other hand, TRS SC Cell state president Sunke Ravishankar had also launched campaign separately appealing to the party high command to allocate ticket to him as he was a local and available in the constituency round-the-clock. He said that party president K. Chandrasekhar Rao would recognize his services to the party and allocate party ticket to him.

In the meantime, the TRS local bodies’ representatives of the Assembly segment are up in arms against former legislator Shoba for going against the party wishes and launching the election campaign without allocation of party ticket. They appealed to the party high command to take disciplinary action against her.

Incidentally, the supporters of former legislator in Mallial mandal appealed to the party high command to allocate the party ticket to Bodige Shoba and they would ensure her victory with thumping majority.
