Collectorate premises set to get a facelift

The sprawling Collectorate office premises in Karimnagar town, which houses several other departments, will get a facelift with the State government sanctioning Rs. 1.56 crore, Collector Neetu Prasad said.

Participating in the Swachh Bharat programme on the Collectorate premises by planting a sapling on Thursday, the Collector said that the government had released Rs. 1.56 crore from the emergency fund. The tender process is being completed. Work will begin soon and will be completed within three to four months, she added.

She also said that NTPC Ramagundam had come forward to modernise the existing auditorium on the Collectorate premises at a cost of Rs. 30 lakh to Rs. 40 lakh by providing all amenities to conduct meetings. The repairs to the Collectorate premises will give a fillip to the office, she noted.

The Collector also said that the administration had planted one crore saplings in the district as part of the Haritha Haram programme. She also instructed the authorities to develop the helipad park on the Collectorate premises.

In the meantime, Andhra Bank Karimnagar zone donated 150 tree guards for the Haritha Haram programme. Similarly, the State Bank of Hyderabad had also donated 500 tree guards. Joint Collector Pausumi Basu, Additional Joint Collector Nagendra, DRO Veerabrahmaiah and others were also present.
