District Medical and Health Officer R. Ram Manohar Rao along with his team, police and revenue officials have seized a clinic in connection with the conduct of illegal abortions at Jyothinagar locality in Karimnagar town on Thursday.

On credible information about the conduct of illegal abortions at Sai Clinic by an unqualified person, the DMHO along with his team visited the location and found that the clinic was locked and the person conducting abortions named as Radha had fled from the spot. The revenue and police officials broke open the lock and found that the clinic was performing illegal abortions as was evident from the collection of blood stained machinery.

During the search operations, the authorities recovered ₹ 66,400 cash, two promissory notes worth ₹ 2 lakh, three mobile phones, gold tali, passport, pen drive, memory card and other documents. Later, the authorities seized the house. The DMHO said that the accused person had put up a board in the front of the clinic claiming to be a qualified medical doctor. Medical officers Sharanya and Pushpa, Tahsildar Kanakaiah and others were present.
