NREGS contract staff protest continues

The protest launched by the contract and outsourcing employees working in the District Water Management Agency and looking after implementation of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) entered the 15th day on Monday.

The protesters have been staging dharna in front of the Collectorate demanding regularisation of service among other things. According to the Joint Action Committee of the contract and outsourcing employees, the government should announce 43 per cent fitment and Telangana increment. They also demanded health cards and promotions.
