Brahmotsavam in Karimnagar from Jan 25


Annual brahmotsavams of the Sri Venkateshwara Swamy Devasthanam here would be conducted from January 25 to February 3 next year on a grand scale, said Minister for BC Welfare and Civil Supplies Gangula Kamalakar.

Speaking to newsmen here on Sunday at the temple, the Minister said the brahmotsavams would be performed on the lines of Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanam (TTD) with its support and its priests. As part of the celebrations, the town would be brightly illuminated and decorated with flowers and arches, he said and added that they were planning to invite popular playback singer S.P. Balasubramanyam along with singer Sunitha to the temple to participate in the devotional musical night. There would be cultural programmes every evening at the temple.

Giving details about the brahmotsavams, he said there would be processions of the presiding deities on various chariots including Garuda vahanam during the festival, and added that the Venkateshwara Swamy and Laxminarayana kalyanotsavams on January 31.
