Bodies of two Maoists preserved in morgue

Bodies of two Maoists, including a woman, who were among the 10 killed on Friday, were preserved at the mortuary in the Government Area Hospital in Bhadrachalam.

The other eight bodies could not be brought to the hospital due to difficulties in airlifting them from the dense forest area, police sources said. When reports last came in, the post-mortem had not been done.

Though the police maintained that the identity of the Maoists had not yet been ascertained, it is learnt that the bodies were that of Budri alias Renuka and Sanjeev, reportedly belonging to the CPI (Maoist) North Telangana Special Zonal Committee. Bhadrachalam ASP Sunil Dutt said the other bodies were expected to arrive on Saturday.
