The charred remains of three teenaged siblings who died in the house fire in Tennesse in the United States on December 24 were brought to Hyderabad on Friday en route their native place in Nalgonda district.
The children’s parents — Ketavath Srinivas Naik and Sujatha Naik, who rushed to the place after the accident — accompanied the coffins carrying the remains to Hyderabad where a special funeral service was held at Narayanguda Baptist church.
The teenagers — Sathwika Sharon Naik (17), Aaron Suhas Naik (15) and Joy Suchitra Naik (14) — of Gurrapu thanda near Neredugommu were burnt alive in the fire at the house of Kari Coudriet, a member of Collierville Bible Church in Collierville where the children’s father had worked as a pastor till his return to Nalgonda in 2017. The victims had visited the house of the Coudriet family for Christmas celebration. They were students of French Camp Academy in Mississippi.
The coffins were received at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport here by Telangana State Minorities Commission vice-chairman B. Shankar Luke and Rev Sajjan Kumar and Bishop Nehemiah. The State government paid for the expenses to bring the bodies to their native place.
