The Bharatiya Janata Party will not ally with Telangana Rashtra Samithi and go solo in the upcoming 2019 elections, its Floor Leader in the Assembly and Amberpet MLA G. Kishan Reddy said here on Friday. “We are as far from the TRS as from the Congress. There will not be any alliance of sorts in the future too,” he asserted. Mr. Kishen Reddy was vocal in saying the BJP would not only keep distance from the TRS, but with any other party that is friends with the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM).
“Those who want caste-based reservations may vote for the TRS or the Congress. Our view of caste-based reservations is different from theirs, but is surely in accordance with the Constitution and the High Court directions,” he said.
Mr. Kishen Reddy who is also the party’s in-charge for Nalgonda parliamentary constituency, alleged it was Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s lack of will and step-motherly treatment that put the Srisailam Left Bank Canal tunnel work on the back burner, but Kaleshwaram Project got all the attention and priority.
“At least ₹860 crore earmarked for the SLBC project has been diverted,” he alleged.
After visiting the Mahatma Gandhi University here as part of his tour, he said he learned that it was the only institute in Telangana with no professor posts filled till now. And there were no hostels for girl students.
“About 70% teaching posts in all State universities are lying vacant. The Governor and the Chief Minister should answer some important questions before praising them,” he said.
