Awareness programme on minorities institutions

Members of minority communities urged to utilise facility

The Minorities Department has decided to conduct a meeting on May 14 at Circus Grounds in the town to raise awareness about the quality education being provided in the government’s minority residential educational institutions.

State Minorities Finance Corporation Chairman Akbar Hussain said Finance Minister Eatala Rajender, MP B. Vinod Kumar, MLAs and MLCs would attend the meeting. Calling upon people from Muslim, Christian, Sikh and others minority communities to attend the meeting, he said the government was providing 75% reservations to minorities in these residential institutions.

Mayor S. Ravinder Singh said the State government had opened 204 residential schools for minorities in the State, which are providing education on par with the corporate educational institutions. Municipal Corporator Roop Singh and Karre Lingaiah were present.
