Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao is raking up regional feelings among students and taking decisions that jeopardised the interests of poor Andhra students studying in Hyderabad, Telugu Nadu Students Federation State president Nadendla Brahmam Chowdary alleged on Wednesday.

The Telangana government scrapped the fee reimbursement scheme and introduced Financial Assistance to Students of Telangana (FAST) scheme with a view to promoting corruption and depriving poor Andhra students of assistance, Mr. Chowdary alleged in a discussion on “role of youth and students in building Navyandhrapradesh” in the TDP office here.

The TNSF president appealed to the Opposition leader Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy to take up the issue with Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao and protect the interests of Andhra students. Students and youth should play a key role in development of Navyandhrapradesh, he added.

TNSF national coordinator Ravi Naidu, State general secretary Anand Goud, TDP district president M. Linga Reddy, TDP State organising secretary S. Goverdhan Reddy and leaders S. Durgaprasada Rao and V.S. Ameer Babu spoke. The meeting discussed on vital issues including the capital, Central funding and schemes.
