Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao left here for New Delhi on Friday evening for a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at 11 a.m. on Saturday. He was also likely to call on President Pranab Mukherjee later in the evening and return to the city on Sunday.
Sources said Mr. Rao would extend an invitation to Mr. Modi to inaugurate the Metropolis World Congress here next month which would be attended by Mayors of member cities. He would request the Prime Minister to make some alterations to the allotment of IAS and IPS officers between the two States, particularly GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar, Principal Revenue Secretary B.R. Meena and another IAS officer Vikas Raj whose services have been placed at the disposal of Andhra Pradesh government.
Mr. Rao was also likely to seek the constitution of Krishna Water Disputes Tribunal in the context of formation of Telangana State and national status to the Pranahita- Chevella project. Mr. Modi would be requested to release the 4,000 MW power promised to Telangana in the reorganisation Act.
On Sunday, the Chief Minister was scheduled to meet Union Ministers Sushma Swaraj, M. Venkaiah Naidu, Piyush Goyal and Nitin Gadkari.
