Armed miscreants send Nalgonda police into a tizzy

May 27, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:49 am IST - NALGONDA:

Two miscreants gave the two-member police patrol team the slip by threatening them with a weapon in Nakrekal town on Tuesday afternoon.

Superintendent of Police Vikramjit Duggal alerted the police force across the district. Instructions were issued to conduct checks at all important junctions.

Speaking to The Hindu , Nakrekal Inspector Balakrishna said that following the Panagal incident, and since a couple of chain snatching incidents reported in a colony in Nakrekal town recently, the police have deployed a couple of personnel in the area. While they were checking people on a road, the police found two youth moving suspiciously on a bike. When they tried to stop the bike, the miscreants threatened the policemen with a weapon and escaped, the Inspector said. However, policemen managed to note down the bike number. The Inspector said that they are not sure of the make of the weapon.
