Almanac reader forecasts good days for farmers

Danger of heavy floods between June 30 and July 28, says Bachampally Santosh Kumar

The Telugu almanac read out at the official Ugadi celebrations of the State government in the presence of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao here forecast good time for farmers in mid July with bountiful rains but there was the danger of heavy floods also between June 30 and July 28.

The prediction made by Bachampally Santosh Kumar of Sringeri Peetham, which was also attended by all the Cabinet colleagues of Mr. Rao and senior government officials, pointed out the end of dark days due to COVID-19 and new tidings for people in the State. They have already set in with the reopening of renovated Yadadri temple and the renovation of Rajarajeswara temple at Vemulawada will be the next big project of the government to invoke the blessings of God for the welfare of the State.

Santosh Kumar said the Chief Minister will unfold miracles in administration with some important decisions that will have lasting impact. Leaders of rival parties who tried to set up obstacles for Mr. Rao will not succeed. His bad days ended on February 27 this year. He also sounded a note of caution to leaders who want to defect parties as it will mar their political career.

The dreams of unemployed youth will be fulfilled and education will be back on rails with no more online classes. Work from home will also be over. Women IAS officers will contribute a lot to good governance, he said.

He added that tensions on borders of the State, and security issues to leaders from August to November may pose problems to the government. Real estate will look up only in Hyderabad but turn bearish elsewhere in the State. The media will have plentiful of news, he said.

In the national scenario, Santosh Kumar said India might encounter problems with Pakistan and has to guard against train accidents in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, natural calamities in Gujarat and Rajasthan and fire accidents in Maharashtra. He urged people not to splurge money needlessly as it could result in economic crisis like in Sri Lanka.

Replying to the predictions, the Chief Minister said several factors synchronised to push land values in Telangana after its formation as a State. People from other States settled down here are booking villas for ₹25 crore, he said.

The celebrations were preceded by cultural performances, including Bonalu, Gusadi and other folk dances.
