Allocation of officers for two States to be done soon

Chief Secretary of Andhra Pradesh, I.Y.R. Krishna Rao on Tuesday met Union Cabinet Secretary, Ajit Kumar Seth and Home Secretary, Anil Goswamy among other Secretaries of Government of India, apart from those at the Prime Minister’s Office, to pursue pending issues relating to Government of Andhra Pradesh.

It is understood that when he met Mr. Seth and Secretary, Personnel & Training, Sanjay Kothari and officers at the PMO, he was assured that the process of allocating All India Service officers for the State of Andhra Pradesh would be completed soon, while he discussed issues pertaining to the State’s bifurcation with Mr. Goswamy.

The Cabinet Secretary is said to promised to sort out issues relating to allocation of officers between the two states and accord special status to Andhra Pradesh and to help in resolving other pending issues relates to Andhra Pradesh.

This was followed with the meeting with Secretary Expenditure relates to rising of borrowings, filling of revenue gaps and financial assistance to Andhra Pradesh.

Later, he met Secretary, Chemical and Petrochemicals, Inderjit Pal, regarding establishment of PCPRI (Petroleum, Chemicals and Petrochemicals Investment) region between Visakhapatnam and Kakinada. Next he had a meeting with the Secretary, Water Resources, Alok Rawat, on the issue of Polavaram Project and creation of water boards for Krishna and Godavari rivers. In another meeting with Secretary, Pharmaceuticals, he discussed the issues of promotion of Pharmaceutical industry in Andhra Pradesh. Further he met Secretary Industries and Trades promotion, Amitabh Kumar, for inclusion of Krishnapatnam in the proposed Chennai – Bangalore industrial corridor.

Allocation of power

He had a meeting with Secretary, Power, Umashankar, for distribution of power and on the issue of allocation of power from central power stations to AP as per the provisions of AP Reorganization Act.

He also met the Secretary, Higher Education, Ashok Thakur at the Ministry of Human Resources regarding establishment of IIM, IIT and other Institutions of igher education in AP.
